In today’s Red Eye crossword, 22 Across is “ashamed” and 5 Down is “shame.” I realized that it’s the fucking Red Eye and that “ergo,” “alp,” and “order” have appeared in multiple puzzles this week, but repeating words IN THE SAME CROSSWORD? C’mon, you guys.

And I get it, it’s almost Christmas time and all of those “best of 09” and “best of the decade” lists are coming out and you’re most likely looking at yourself and saying “Hey, this is not ideal. There are some things I wish were different,” and I get that — truly — but you really can’t blame it on...
Truth: Sometimes when I can’t solve the daily crossword puzzle in the paper, I convince myself that there must have been a printing error with the clues and that I’m really right.
Sooo, someone told my HR department that I’m engaged and now my engagement announcement is posted on our intranet for my entire company to see.
Omg if I’m asked one more wedding-related question I might cry.
