Friday is looking up already!
I stop by the Corner Bakery on Michigan on my way to work in the mornings. I ditched Starbucks because Corner Bakery gives out coffee cards so that after you buy six coffees the seventh coffee is free. It’s a small perk, but the mornings that I get free coffee totally make my whole day. Yesterday was my free coffee day, so today I kindly asked the cashier for a new coffee card. He smiled and said, “Hmmm, you’re not smiling this morning like you normally are. I think you deserve a free coffee tomorrow. It’ll make your Friday that much better. Chin up.” He then hands me a coffee card with all six holes punched out! It was a small, random act of kindness that really brought me up with this entire world seems to be crashing down. There really is goodness out there.
